Bernardo's vote count is rising and Tucker's losing

With Bernardo ahead by 302 votes it looks like Tucker may be up shit creek without a paddle. The elections staff has about 6,250 more votes to count, they will anounce the final vote tally on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014.

Nicole David earned countywide respect as the top vote getter in the Nov. 4, 2014 election.  She out campaigned Jim Tucker and Robert Bernardo in a crushing landslide.  

If we had to choose between Tucker and Bernardo for the second seat we'd prefer Bernardo however with such a close election (377 vote lead for Tucker) we'll wait until all the ballots are counted to announce the final results.  

Perhaps if Bernardo hadn't wasted energy campaigning as Tucker's dimwitted sidekick he might have had a decisive victory.  The results indicate that a fence-sitting approach to governance is not a successful campaign strategy.  Hopefully more votes will turn up in Bernardo's favor, if not perhaps he will apply this life lesson to his future endeavors. 

Stop Jim Tucker's Toxic Cronyism

In 2012 Commissioners Jim Tucker, Will Holsinger and Robert Bernardo approved charging the highest commercial fishing fees in California.

Jim Tucker said, "It's about time we get a piece of the action." Jim Tucker describes hardworking commercial fishing families that operate small business out of Pillar Point Harbor as the "little fishing people."  

The Harbor District is going broke and it's also true that the General Manager suggested raiding future public employee benefits, at the May 21, 2014 board meeting, as a way to keep top heavy management afloat and cover the cost of 20+ years of deferred maintenance.

Unreasonable fees are not the solution to decades of financial mismanagement. In May 2014 Jim Tucker was spotted riding around Pillar Point Harbor in a golf cart driven by the Harbor Master. He tried to smooth things over with commercial fishermen but it was too late.

Being chauffeured up and down Johnson Pier in a golf cart does nothing to rebuild trust. Squeezing fishermen to the point of driving them to ports outside of San Mateo County has consequences.
